A New Thought on Gender is a course designed for ministers, spiritual directors, credentialed leaders, and lay leaders who are committed to creating inclusive, affirming, and healing communities. This course affirms that gender diversity is not new but has been present in cultures and spiritual traditions across history. What is new is the rigid binary system upheld by modern patriarchy. Through teaching, conversation, and reflection, participants are invited to reclaim ancient wisdom, embrace expansive understandings of gender, and embody spiritual practices that affirm oneness, love, and wholeness.
Across twelve sessions, leaders engage with stories, theology, and develop trauma-informed practices that move communities from symbolic welcome to transformative safety, celebration, and belonging. Voices of trans and nonbinary leaders, along with seasoned ministers and advocates, guide participants in exploring topics such as language, belonging, pastoral care, and the role of privilege in leadership. The course equips leaders with both insight and practical tools to nurture ministries where every person can show up fully as an expression of Divine Love, helping faith communities heal historic wounds and embody the inclusive, creative Spirit at the heart of New Thought.
