Folx with Faith Guided Meditation for Living a Joyful Life
Hello, this is James Masters, the Program Coordinator for Folx with Faith. I’d like to welcome you to this guided meditation for living a joyful life. Many spiritual traditions teach that joy is always available to all of us. In fact, for ages, spiritual teachers have been telling us that joy is available to us now, and for ages, spiritual seekers have been on the quest to experience this truth.
As we begin this meditation, take a moment to find a comfortable position. There is no special posture required for this meditation—you can be sitting up or lying down. The key is to ensure you are comfortable and able to relax.
Now that you are settled, take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth. We will start this meditation by relaxing the body. Focus your attention on your scalp, and allow yourself to release any tension you might be holding there. Take a deep breath in, and on the exhale, let go of any tension in your scalp.
Now, relax your forehead. Relax your eyes and the muscles around them. Relax your cheeks, lips, and jaw. Let go of any tightness in the back of your neck, and feel this relaxation moving down into your shoulders.
Let this relaxation flow down your arms, softening your elbows, hands, and fingertips. Feel the tingling sensation of relaxation in your fingertips.
Feel this relaxation moving into your back. Take a deep breath in, and on the exhale, relax your upper back, your lower back, and your glutes.
Move your attention to your chest muscles. Take a deep breath in and relax your chest, your abdomen, and your genitals.
Allow this relaxation to move into your thighs. Release any tension you might be holding in your thigh muscles. Let them become loose and heavy. Feel this relaxation move into your knees, your legs, your ankles, your feet, and your toes.
Now, relax your skin, relax your mind, and your emotions. Take a moment to sit in this relaxed state and savor the sensation of relaxation throughout your whole body. Acknowledge how good it feels to simply let go and relax.
In this relaxed state, gently shift your attention to your heart. Recognize that all the love, all the joy, and all the peace you will ever experience in this life come from this heart space. The joy you seek is already within you. Take a moment to recognize the deep wisdom that exists within.
In this space lies all the answers to the questions you will ever ask. Your natural inheritance, as an expression of divine love, is to experience joy. Take a moment and affirm, “I am willing to release any pattern in my consciousness that is preventing me from experiencing joy.” Now, envision a gentle stream flowing from your heart. This stream carries with it a sensation of peace, gently washing away anything blocking you from experiencing joy. Sit with this sensation for a moment as it clears away what no longer serves you.
Now, bring your attention back to your heart and ask, “What can I do to experience more joy in my life?” Allow this question to sink deeply into your heart. You may receive an answer right away, or you may not. That’s okay. Trust that simply by posing this question, the infinite wisdom within you will guide you toward the answers you seek.
Take a moment to feel the joy of trusting in this higher wisdom. Know that the answer to this question will continue to unfold in your life in meaningful ways. Let’s rest in this experience of joy, trusting that everything you need will be provided, and everything you need to know will be revealed in perfect timing.
Everything in your life is happening right on time. Feel the joy of knowing that you have always been on the right path and always will be, moving from strength to strength, from glory to glory.
As we conclude this meditation, express gratitude for the work you’ve done today. Thank the infinite wisdom that always loves, guides, and supports you for providing the answers you seek. Take a moment to wiggle your fingers and toes. When you feel ready, gently open your eyes and take in your surroundings. Carry this sensation of joy with you throughout your day and affirm, “I am an expression of divine love. I am open and receptive to all the joy this life has to offer.” And so it is.
